I’m Scott Borland, a management consultant who specializes in strategic facilitation and executive feedback.

How We're DifferentWhat exactly is strategic facilitation?

In a nutshell, it’s helping senior leaders host high impact conversations that generate clarity, focus, alignment and engagement. They can then take action – whether that means setting direction, reaching a goal, completing a project, or just getting “unstuck” around a key challenge or issue.

What I’m really passionate about is helping teams and organizations tackle complex issues that are of significant importance, involve multiple stakeholders and have the potential for high impact.

In essence, I play the role of an orchestra conductor, pulling the various players together to create ‘great music’. Like the conductor, I help people create bigger and more impactful results than they could accomplish on their own.

If you’re planning a consequential, high impact, conversation and need a skilled hand to help you navigate the dialogue, give me a call.

What kind of results can you expect?

  • Improved clarity – regarding the challenge, the context and potential solutions
  • Greater alignment – between key stakeholders and constituents
  • Clear game plan – where to ‘play’, what to do and how to prosper
  • Better decisions – more timely, informed, and impactful
  • Stronger leadership – insightful, focused and accountable
  • Higher engagement – passion and commitment for the way ahead
  • Greater resilience – ensuring sustainability and durability for the long term
  • Improved outcomes – real, measurable, bottom-line results in what matters most

Why executive feedback?

As a senior leader, you need feedback to be both effective and successful, just like elite athletes who continually strive for excellence. The challenge is getting relevant, accurate and timely feedback.

As an executive, there’s a key problem – you wield a lot of power. So while you might be earnest in your quest for feedback, your direct reports, peers, or even external stakeholders (e.g. board members) are not likely to knock on your door and say, “I’m going to give you some feedback.”

If you want a genuine assessment of how you’re doing, you’re going to have to make the first move and ask for it. And that’s where I can make a big difference.

What kind of results can you expect?

  • Solid understanding of the key strengths that you bring to your leadership role
  • Deep insight into how you’re performing from the perspective of key stakeholders
  • Clearly identified improvement opportunities in terms of leadership presence, behaviour and actions
  • Specific targeted strategies to advance your continued executive development
  • Expert coaching to support accelerated progress and success
